We are now closed at 151 Flinders St

We will be reopening soon at 43 Franklin Street with an amazing new concept.

What an amazing journey it’s been! From the moment I opened the doors on July 7, 2014, the plan was simple, to make it feel just like home ... no menu, great service, fun, loving, with a strong sense of community, where people come together to eat, drink, laugh and even cry together!

Over the years I have made lifelong friends, met the best people from all over the world, Prime Ministers, Hollywood actors, sporting legends, outstanding South Australians and had the pleasure of working with some amazing staff who will be friends for life ... my dear Mum who worked with me at Luigi’s and poured her heart into her cooking day in day out, making amazing meals with love ... Thank you to my Mamma who departed too young from this earth but her spirit and legacy will live on forever at Luigi’s ... so many people have come through the door, leaving a positive and genuine contribution, I am so proud to have met and known you ... thank you for the hundreds of positive reviews on TripAdvisor to get us to no. 1 breakfast spot.

Now the journey continues on to bigger and greater things ... after 5 years Luigi Delicatessen is moving to the brand new Uniting Communities U City building at 43 Franklin Street … I look forward to welcoming you there soon ... what an exciting time ... although it is sad to leave 151 Flinders, it is time to fulfil some big dreams ... I sincerely want to thank all of my customers and staff past and present ... Thanks for all the memories and for your love!

Welcome to Luigi's Delicatessen

Welcome to Luigis
Luigi cafe adelaide

For as long as I can remember, it has always been a dream of mine to open my own little cafe. I was born in Naples, Italy, so food, wine, people and family were an everyday affair and it was always as I describe it like "the theatre of food". Where each and every meal was made with love and everyone would come together to eat, talk, laugh and share the givings of the day. So it's in my blood and I am so glad that it is.

Luigi's to me, is an extension of my home and my customers are an extension of my family - I am honoured everytime somebody walks through our doors.

I believe in offering not just amazing food and coffee but first class service with a smile and genuinely caring our customers.

Enjoy and buon appetito!

In 2014 when Luigi's first opened, Mamma insisted that she come to work with me at 5am most mornings to help with making meatballs, lasagna, parmiggiana, sauces, soups and more.

Standing out in the cold outside her home most mornings at 5am waiting for me to pick her up, Mamma was excited to get to work and cook her little heart out. Mamma loved our customers and they loved her.

Mamma wanted people to have a good time and enjoy the food.

Sadly she passed away on the 21st of January 2017.

I will always ensure that we carry on her legacy and keep making my beautiful little Mamma proud.

Rest In Peace Anna Di Costanzo, the most amazing lady I have ever known!
